Advice from Kru Smuk

I am here to share a few tips to speed up your Thai reading. Here are my 3 loving pieces of advice:

  • Be patient – reading Thai is challenging, especially with totally different scripts from your own language. Take time to read the story twice or more. The first time will be a bit of a struggle, but the next one will be much easier.
  • Read a word as a chunk, not syllables – try to remember the form of each word as a whole. Use your brain to remember the pattern and guess the word from the context.
  • Pronounce it right! – When learning a new word, pay attention to how it sounds and how it’s written.
